Newberg is home for us. The town was platted in 1883 and incorporated in 1889, and it has grown from 22,068 people in 2010 to a little over 26,000 today. George Fox University has anchored the place since 1885, and the Hoover-Minthorn House downtown was Herbert Hoover's boyhood home. Do you have a showroom in Newberg?
Yes. We are at 900 Industrial Parkway in Newberg, open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. You can see and handle full samples there, which matters more than it sounds — carpet density and the wear layer on LVP are things you judge with your hands, not from a photo.
How does the Willamette Valley climate affect what I should put down?
Newberg gets close to 40 inches of rain a year and then dries out into warm summers. That swing moves flooring. It is not a reason to avoid laminate or LVP — it is a reason to acclimate the material in the room first and leave proper expansion space at every wall and transition. Done right, the seasonal movement disappears under the baseboard where it belongs.
We have a 1910 house near downtown. Is that a problem?
It is normal work for us, it just needs honest prep. Older Newberg homes have plank subfloors, rooms that are out of square, and original trim worth keeping. We level what needs levelling and scribe to the walls you actually have. What we will not do is float a floor over a subfloor that should have been fixed first.
