We are based in Newberg and work throughout the northern Willamette Valley and the southwest Portland metro — Newberg, McMinnville, Sherwood, Wilsonville, Woodburn, Tualatin, Tigard, King City, Lake Oswego, West Linn and Beaverton. If you are near that footprint but not on the list, call and ask.
Do you have a showroom?
Yes, at 900 Industrial Parkway in Newberg, open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. It is worth the visit. Carpet density, the wear layer on a vinyl plank and the texture on a laminate are things you judge by handling them, and a photograph on a screen will not tell you what a floor is like to live with.
What do you install?
Carpet, laminate and luxury vinyl plank, tile — with tile showers as a particular specialty — stairs and trim, quartz counters, and the removal and disposal of whatever is coming out. Carpet and laminate/LVP are the largest part of our week.
What warranty do you offer?
We carry a ten year labor warranty on our installation. The flooring material itself is covered separately by the manufacturer's warranty, which varies by product — we will tell you what it is for whatever you are considering, rather than leaving you to find it in the small print.
How long have you been in business?
Normans Carpets Inc, trading as Norman’s Floor Covering, has been established in Newberg since 1978 — forty-eight years. We are licensed with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board under CCB 103259.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, financing is available on our work. Ask when we come out to measure and we will walk you through what is on offer at the time and what it would actually mean for your project.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. We take on smaller projects such as a bedroom or a small counter, though there is a minimum on any job. If you are not sure whether what you have in mind clears it, call and ask — we would rather give you a straight answer than have you assume you are too small to bother us.
Will you repair a floor somebody else installed?
Generally not, and it is fairer to say so up front. We do not take on repair work for hard surface flooring, tile or countertops on projects we did not install ourselves. With tile especially the reason is practical: the waterproofing is buried behind the finished surface and we cannot inspect or warrant work we did not build. We do carry out carpet re-stretches.
